Having played chess for more than a decade, I wished to share my passion with others. In April, 2016, I launched Project Checkmate with an aim to teach chess to underprivileged children. Over the course of time, the project expanded its scope to helping blind students. This project aims to not only teach chess to the children, but also aims to help them learn basic life skills. Through this project, I wish to reach out to my society and contribute to it. Chess develops the entire mind, body, and soul. It allows these children to develop a passion and hobby and gives them something to look forward to. Project Checkmate wishes to touch the lives of these children so that they too can understand and enjoy the joys of game and competition.
